We are currently qualifying tech-savvy self starters for full-time Laboratory Technician positions in Manoa. Various positions available.The selected candidates will be working on a nanotechnology project. Qualified candidates for these positions should be familiar with composite materials manufacturing and testing, programing, MatLab, and LabView.

Salary:
$15.00 to $20.00 Hourly
Additional Responsibilities:
- Track inventory and maintain a tidy work area
- Compile information, prepare samples, and perform testing
- Perform design, analysis, fabrication, and testing
- Record accurate results and compile reports
- Design and operate chemical vapor deposition furnaces
- Manufacture and post-process carbon nanotubes
- Perform functional tests for equipment calibrations
Required Education and Qualifications:
- Minimum two-year associate’s degree or equivalent experience with a focus in science or engineering
- Proficiency with various manufacturing techniques using tools such as mills, lathes, shears, saws, grinders, and drills.
- Familiarity with with computer aided design software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or Solid Works
- Excellent computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office
Desired qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, material science, chemical engineering, physics, or a related area
- Ability to read project specifications, plans, and procedures
- Strong understanding of CVD furnaces and CNTs
- Familiarity with Instron testing machine and relevant data acquisition techniques
- Educational and/or work background in nanotechnology
