Development of an Atom Tracking Module and Application Measurements

Description

In a team with experienced SPM specialists you will be responsible for the development, test and characterisation of an atom tracking module for SPM applications. After an intensive training for about 3 month at different types of SPM’s, you will work together with specialists from the electronic and software department at the development of a hard- and software- package for the measurement and compensation of vertical and lateral drift in scanning probe microscopes. The project includes the development and the characterisation of the hardware and software as well as the proof of the method by application measurements, like force- and tunnelling current- spectroscopy measurements on well known reference- and unknown sample systems. Training for Omicrons co-operation partners as well as demonstration measurements for customers will be a second part of this project. Your Profile: You have successfully completed university education with a degree in physics, material science or related engineering. Ideally you have experience in Scanning probe microscopy and a strong interest in electronics , vacuum technology and surface science. We expect applicants to be fluent in English and German.
