Isolated metal plug process for use in fabricating carbon nanotube memory cells

The present invention is directed to structures and methods of fabricating electromechanical memory cells having nanotube crossbar elements. Such memory cells include a substrate having transistor with a contact that electrically contacts with the transistor. A first support layer is formed over the substrate with an opening that defines a lower chamber above the electrical contact. A nanotube crossbar element ... Read More »

Russian nanotechnology in the global spotlight

At the international Nanotechnology forum underway in Moscow, Business RT spoke with I will try Claude R. Canizares from Massachusetts Institute of Technology about Russian technology. RT: How excited are you about the things that you see here? CC: “Well, this is a really impressive display, I must say, more so than I expected when I came here. The scale ... Read More »

Brand New Techniques in Nanotechnology

Scientists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have come up with a way to use a special conductive gas that acts like the condensation on a winter window, and nanotechnology in the form of lines of nanowires that act much like the writing on the pane of cold glass. Developed by a team led by Materials and Engineering Professor Mr. Chang-Beom ... Read More »
